AmeriDrive Review – Complete Review

Ameridrive is a subscription service that operates in parts of Georgia, Florida, and Texas. Subscribers can browse Ameridrive’s fleet of available cars and subscribe to one for anywhere from 7 to 28 days, paying per week. Unlike most subscription services, Ameridrive makes its cars available for customers to use with ridesharing services for an extra fee.

What does a AmeriDrive subscription look like?

Subscribers have access to a variety of cars, each available for an initial fee, and then a weekly fee – with a maximum term of 28 days (4 weeks). Ameridrive also makes it’s vehicles available for ridesharing use for a daily fee which, again, is unique to each car.

Your weekly fee covers all the usual subscription benefits like insurance, maintenance, swapping, and roadside assistance. Everything, from managing your account to scheduling a new subscription, can be done through the Ameridrive app.

How much does it cost?

There isn’t a set monthly or weekly fee for all cars, nor a series of tiered payment plans, instead, each Ameridrive car has its own weekly fee and a $149 initial subscription fee. At the time of this review, the cheapest options were a few sedans for $198 per week, and the most expensive option was $348 per week for a 2015 Dodge Charger.

Where does it operate?

Ameridrive operates in Marietta, and soon also Jonesboro, Georgia. In Florida, Ameridrive operates in Hollywood, Margate, Miami Gardens, West Palm Beach, and soon Miami Airport. And Ameridrive operates in Austin, Texas.

How do I sign up?

Just download Ameridrive’s mobile app onto your phone. Once there, you’ll be guided through the process of creating your account. You’ll provide your driver’s license and a valid credit card. The process can take up to two days. You’ll be able to subscribe to your first car once you’ve been approved.

Am I eligible for AmeriDrive?

You’re eligible as long as you have a valid U.S. driver’s license, a valid payment method, and an email address and cell phone. You can still subscribe if you have an International Driver’s License, but you’ll be subject to additional fees.

How long do I have to wait for my new car?

You can expect to wait anywhere from two to four days.

Can I try the service before I commit to it?

Ameridrive doesn’t offer a trial period. That said, you’ll only be charged once you’ve subscribed to a car.

Can I swap vehicles?

You can swap your Ameridrive car if by getting in touch with your local Market Manager or calling Ameridrive’s helpline at 833-305-3500. You won’t be refunded any days on your current term.

How do I cancel AmeriDrive?

Since you’re only committing to a single car on a weekly basis, you can cancel simply by returning your car to the Ameridrive at which you retrieved it, just call ahead and let them know when you’ll be returning your car. You can always return it before your subscription period is up, but you won’t be refunded for any remaining time.

AmeriDrive vs. Lease

Ameridrive’s weekly subscription fee means a per-week commitment to a single car, versus the multiple-year commitment you’ll have with a traditional lease. Even compared to other subscription services, Ameridrive’s service is more akin to a short-term rental. Then there’s the all-inclusive fee that provides just about everything you need to drive a car, which makes the whole process simpler than navigating a traditional lease.

Which cars are available?

Ameridrive offers a variety of cars from the following brands: Chevrolet, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, KIA, Nissan, SMART, Toyota, Volkswagen, Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, GMC, Infiniti, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Ram, Scion, Subaru, and Tesla.

What is included in the AmeriDrive monthly price?

In Ameridrive’s case, your weekly price will include insurance, maintenance, vehicle swapping, and roadside assistance. You can expect to find a different mileage allowance, for the same, depending upon whether you sign up for it through the commuter program or rideshare program.

What is not included in the AmeriDrive monthly price?

Aside from the $149 initial fee for each car, you’ll also be charged a fee for excess mileage, possible cleaning/damage costs upon returning the vehicle, any applicable late fees, and you’ll be covering any tolls or traffic violations.

Is AmeriDrive right for you?

Ameridrive offers a very enticing service if you’re looking to rent a car for a period of a few weeks. If you’re looking to have a car for a longer period of time, say months, Ameridrive’s price might not be as competitive when compared with other subscription services.
